dude you mispelt nutshell lol

MelancholyFox responds:

Yeah I know. I was drinking at the time of making this and then I thought "Wait, this could also work out as part of the joke" So I just left it in there.

Animation seemed to have quite a bit of promise from the start, but the ending felt a bit rushed and the entire animation suffered because of it. The Gyarados looked good, was pretty well animated despite the fact that it was mainly tweens. Was a bit disappointed to see the sound cut out and the fairly lazy Pokeball catch effect on the Gyarados.

The Pokemon trainer looked okay to begin with as a silhouette, but I feel you may have gotten more out of the punchline if you had drawn a character in which you could display facial expression with. If you were to sacrifice character design by using a silhouette you would at least have been expected to make the Pokemon trainer animation flawless, but the walking loop seemed blocky and clunky.

Joke felt a bit too drawn out, the animation could have been done in 20-30 seconds and the punchline may have been stronger because of it.

Solid effort though.

XxFalopioxX responds:

Thanks for the tips, i really appreciate the time you take . and yes , you are right , the Silluete could be more animatic because its was just a silluoete.

im having problemns with the WALKING CYCLE and having problem in the way that I DONT LIKE TO SPEND TOO MUCH TIME IN A SINGLE ANIMATION. i want to finish early and i know its a problem because i have to be perfectionist and do the details and everything, im new in animation and i always like to DRAW but never took clases. so here im am doing animation like a hobbie but i really would like to be better Thanks again for the review and sorry for my bad english. lol.

I laughed. Was pretty funny and you kept it short so the joke wasn't dragged on for too long. Good effort on the frame by frame, you didn't shy away from some difficult angles to animate.

Punchline might have been improved with some voice acting for the SWAT guys, but other than that it was good.

TheMultiMechs responds:

cheers mate! i actually at first intended some kind of grunt sounds for the swat guys at the end but just couldnt be arsed. thanks for feedback!

Can't really critique this because it's just a still frame with some lip synching. You've got the basics for character design down (eyes, nose, general facial structure looked good, even if it seemed a bit anime-ish).

Just put in a few more hours work next time and get the character moving.

JayCari responds:

yea i havent been wanting to do anymore full body lately but it does mean a lot to me on what you said pal

lol haha memes 4chan and stuff XDDD

MarvinAnimation responds:

yeah hi, I would like in the future for people to say why it's bad. not trying to be mean because it won't make I meaning so give me detail on why it is bad for furture videos keep this in mind thanks

Was good for a laugh. To be fair the first minute or so really didn't do the quality of your animation justice. It seemed more like a sequence of freeze frames rather than a single animation. Was almost about to stop watching when I got to some more frame by frame and easier to follow animation.

You're good, and it's good you put the time in for a lengthy, well produced animation. There were points where the animation seemed a bit lazy, but all in all it was a decent watch.

Voice acting was okay, though the voices didn't really seem to match their characters at times, if that makes sense.

Any way, keep it up. Potential is with you.

thesweepstudios responds:

ya the begining was mostly freeze frames but once i got into the groove of the animation i fleshed out the animations more. thanks for the ffedback btw much appreciated

Absolutely brilliant work on this. Seems to be the start of what could be a rather successful series. It was well animated, funny and easy to watch. I love that you didn't chop this into 2 minute episodes which a lot of people seem to do on here/youtube, so a good lengthy episode made for a decent watch.

The animation was fluent, fun, easy to follow and didn't seem lazy (which can happen if you're making an episode this long). Great art, pretty backgrounds and all in all a pretty professional finish to this.

The voice acting was good, but it seemed to lack energy at time, especially in a couple of parts where perhaps more enthusiasm would be needed, that's my only criticism.

I think you guys will do well here, keep up the great work. How this doesn't have a much higher rating is beyond me.

BestQuest responds:

Thank you so much for your comment, we worked super hard on this and we can't wait to make more! We'll definitely work on punching up the energy in future eps.

But if you don't mind me asking where specifically do you think it could have used more energy in the voice acting? We're trying to find a balance in our delivery so we can make the dialogue sound more conversational and not too zany-- but then not too mundane/boring as well. I'd love to get more feedback from you on that.

Hair looked a bit off, other than that, it was okay. Can't really give you a good review because test animations should go on the dumping grounds/animation forums rather than being submitted, but eh.

lamgelus responds:

oh thats is an old animation... you a right, thanks for the comment

Really enjoyed this. Stop motion wasn't perfect but it did the trick. Voice acting was great, definitely added to the fun of it all.

I think the best sign that I enjoyed it was that I was annoyed when it finished. I could easily watch 5+ minutes of this if the quality and humour remains to this standard.

Go make more.

BeRealNickNaro responds:

Thanks dude, that means a lot. This is literally the first thing I animated ever so I'm surprised to even get decent reviews.

Good news is, more are coming. The next two episodes are recorded and the two after that are scripted.

Shows promise. Character design, energy wave and cat didn't look great, but your ability to acknowledge animation techniques and functions is promising.

Things such as shaking of the screen, movement. The power up seemed strong because of this.

But since it was just a test animation I can't really give a high score.

Ion0X responds:

Thanks. :)

I really want to make amazing action flash animations one day and make something alot of people can enjoy. And i'm not gonna lie i made the cat have nubs but animals with nubs are adorable to me. Thats one of the reasons i like Gir from Invader Zim.
